WE ALL HAVE A WALL IN OUR LIVES

“We all have a wall in our lives

A wall we do not touch

A wall we can't get over

A wall we will never get over”.

Since 2003, Pierre Larauza and Emmanuelle Vincent have been investigating movement through hybrid contemporary forms and with an intercultural approach. In 1968, visual artists and choreographers continue their allegorical, intergenerational research by fusing sport and dance.

The performance starts from a documentary sculpture by Pierre Larauza, which is an ode to the choreographic insubordination of Dick Fosbury’s historic high jump on October 20, 1968 in Mexico: a border-wall as allegory of physical or psychological obstacles built by man.

This performance will be a unique experience where two young hopes of Belgian athletics will cohabit on stage with Philippe Housiaux, a living legend who will share his experience at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games....
