DIGITAL DEMOCRACY - MAÏLYS VAN DE PUT

OLD MATERIALS, NEW ART

pp

The work of Maïlys Van de Put could be called refined trash art, intermingled with elements of classical sculpture. In this sculpture, the artist has used concrete iron for the basic structure, copper wire for the branches and the roots, and printed circuit boards for the bark and leaves. The shiny metal and the translucent printed circuit boards provide an abstract play of the light. Just like in a lot of her other work, she addresses the theme of eco-issues and the consequences of colonization for contemporary society.

Opening during PIXELPARCOURS, 30/03/2019, from 18:00 in the patio (expo).
